11/18/2011 - Johor, Malaysia (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Daniel Chopra fired a six-under 65 Friday to grab a four-stroke lead with the second round of the Johor Open suspended due to darkness.
Chopra finished 36 holes at 13-under-par 129. The Swede split time in 2011 between the PGA and Nationwide Tours. He picked up his third Nationwide Tour title at the Fresh Express Classic in April, but didn't have another top-10 until the Miccosukee Championship in October.
Inclement weather on Thursday pushed the completion of the first round into Friday morning. The last groups on Friday had only made it through three holes of the second round.
The second round is slated to resume at 7:20 a.m. local time on Saturday, which is 6:20 p.m. eastern time Friday evening in the United States.
First-round leader Joost Luiten was one-under through six holes of the second round. He stands at minus-nine overall and is alone in second place at Horizon Hills Golf & Country Club.
Michael Jonzon matched Chopra's 65 to move into a share of third place at eight-under-par 134. He was joined there by Christian Nilsson and Mohd Siddikur, who both shot 67 in round two.
Chopra was in the third group out off the first tee and he birdied that par- four for the second round in a row. After a trio of pars, he converted a birdie effort on the fifth.
The 37-year-old stumbled to a bogey on the par-four seventh. He came right back with a birdie on the eighth and a par on the ninth to make the turn at minus-nine.
Chopra birdied the 11th to push his lead to two strokes. He started a run of three straight birdies on the par-five 13th. Chopra also birdied 14 and 15 to move to 13-under. He parred the last three to end there.
"It was an early start for me this morning. I had a good feel to finish my first round with a few birdies and I made another good putt for birdie on my first hole this morning, which got my second round off to the perfect start," said Chopra, who birdied two of his four holes to close out his first round.
"I didn't drive the ball as well as I did yesterday, but my putting was perfect and my wedges were great."
Luiten started his second round with five consecutive pars from the first. He birdied the sixth for the second straight round just before play was stopped for the day.
NOTES: Luiten is one of nine players ranked in the top-100 in the world in the field this week...Three-time major champion and world No. 83 Padraig Harrington is next closest to the lead as he stood at minus-seven after nine holes of the second round...The cut line is projected at minus-one and Jeev Milkha Singh, Alex Cejka, Danny Lee and Raphael Jacquelin are in danger of missing the cut.

El Duque expected to throw Tuesday
PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- New York Mets pitcher Orlando Hernandez, sidelined at spring training because of arthritis in his neck, is expected to resume throwing on Tuesday.
Hernandez received a cortisone shot Thursday after leaving camp and returning to New York to have his neck examined. The 41-year-old right-hander is penciled in as the team's No. 2 starter behind Tom Glavine.
El Duque's health is a major issue for the Mets, who won the NL East in 2007 and came within one victory of the World Series. Their aging and unsettled rotation is a big question mark this year.
MySportsbook.com has the Mets as -110 favorites to repeat as NL East champions odds.
Hernandez went 11-11 with a 4.66 ERA last season, including 9-7 with a 4.09 ERA in 20 starts after the Mets acquired him from Arizona in late May. But he missed the playoffs because of a torn calf muscle.
New York already is without Pedro Martinez, out until at least midseason following rotator cuff surgery. Among those competing for starting jobs are prospects Mike Pelfrey, Philip Humber and Jason Vargas, plus veterans Chan Ho Park, Jorge Sosa and Aaron Sele.
Notes: Mets manager Willie Randolph is excited about two new utility players he could have on his bench: Damion Easley and David Newhan. ''Their value is really all over the place,'' Randolph said. Easley can play anywhere in the infield and could be used as an emergency outfielder, though Randolph said he would prefer to keep the veteran in the infield. Newhan, meanwhile, can play second base, third or any outfield position for the Mets. ''I love versatility,'' Randolph said. ''I love guys that can give me options when I need them to step in.''
